My average MPG has dropped quite considerably over recent weeks
Gone from about 48mpg to 38mpg
Noticing a massive difference in running costs!!
As a general rule used to put the BP ultimate diesel in but have changed back to normal to see if that helps
Car is a 2008 astra cdx sri 1.9 150 and has had the EGR cleaned once before about a year ago after the light came on while on holiday in cornwall.
Everyone is telling me to take it for a good run as my usual driving is about 10 miles a day plodding along....
Im thinking maybe have a go at cleaning the EGR? Or whats everyones thoughts on trying a fuel additive?

Not checked. Heard the dreaded swirl flap stories and trying to block it out!
What age is yours? apparently the later models have a better EGR and dont suffer

55 plate mine came off bought the car and never noticed untill i fitted my green box and noticed a metal bar on its side, did some research and found out it was the swirl flap rod. was going to take it to warren but the warrenty company paid out for it, the later ones do have a better inlet.

Diesel Particulate Filter Kerry.
I've noticed mine has dropped to about 53 from 60 the last 2 weeks, strangely since I had the clutch and DMF changed. Probably coincidental.....

I hadn't even realised that was supposed to be cdti.
Don't think it has a dpf.

Cdti 150's didn't come with a dpf so don't worry about that.
Could be the swirl flaps, mine has gone. And is down on power and mpg.

Flaps that open and close, creating turbulent air in the inlet manifold. Bit similar to fanny flaps.
