3 points = 4 years
Claim depends on insurer. Usually 3, 4 or 5 years....

4 years for most offences
5 years for DD-- offences
and 10 yrs (i think) for Drunck driving

Before i bought C13 i had an XR2i.
Got caught driving it with no insurance or M.O.T
Gave me £1018 fine
6 month ban
6 points for 3 years
How bad is that. And it was my first offence

to be honest that not bad...
coz some young driver would say moeny doing that.
when insurance companies qoute yung driver with 1.5+ premiums and the tthough of paying for maintains to pass the MOT they might as well take a risk.
Fines should be more 4 no insurance!!!

It wasnt like i was doing it all the time. I was driving it to the geezers house who had just bought it.
So i had cancelled the insurance.
Got pulled about 4 streets from his bloody house.

For insurance purposes, the points stay on record for 5 years.
For totting up purposes, the points stay on your license for three years.
For example. I was fined and got three points in Feb 2000 and then got fined and another three points in Aug 2002 so I had six points on my license.
By Feb 2003 I only had three points on my license, but still got six till Feb 2005 when it comes to my insurance.
Does that make sense?? It does to me cause I got em

Basically I have 4point til 2007 far as Insurance is concerned cos I got them April 4th 2002!!
