First one's (ugly ones) are supposedly quicker.

172 Cup would be ideal for track, decent suspension spec and stripped.

As reliable as any other car aslong as its looked after.

I did 8k in my 182 without a single problem, including a track day.

Few mates have had 172's and only problem was one destroyed gearbox's but it was charged running 260bhp

To me, a Clio 172 for £1000 rings alarm bells. Would you agree?

It seems to tick all the boxes, practical for arsing about with mates, yet fast for when im on my own.

Thats my kind of outlook too. If i turned up to visit my dad in a lairy Nova or something he'd , but i suspect he'd be impressed at a respectable Clio. Strange example but it speaks volumes.

Dare i register on a Renault Clio forum??

Get on ClioSport.net

Decent site, full of knowledgeable people, even if some do have their head up their own arse.

Had a couple of Civics now and fancied a change. Cant fault them except for 'Honda tax' which seems to be added ontop of every car.
