First things first, Hi fellas (and chicks) just joined.
Now the serious part, ive decided on a Corsa C 1.2sxi, around a 02 plate fits my budget, any problems i should look out for as ive never owned a VX before.
Cheers guys, good site too.

Clonking of difficulty to get into gear means weak / broken linkage (easy fix)
If one side is lower than the other then broken suspension spring
Noisy timing chain, should be changed every 100k but can get noisy from 60k onwards
Power steering easier to turn one way than the other / pulling to one side - turn away if it's this, very expensive fix

nice one fellas, so theyre the major things to look for on a corsa beside the usual crap to look out on, ive actually spotted a few cat c's for less than a grand, one has a scuff down the side where some bad driver has had foreplay with a bollard, anyone know if theyre worth it (i know a pretty good mechanic/bodyshop owner who can look at it for me.)
Do you have to tell the insurance if its cat c, i planning on running it until it dies anyway, or maybe strip it out and race when i can afford a nice jag XJS

If it's a cat C I wouldn't pay anymore than £900, they normally go for around £900 (for say a Y reg with over 100,000 miles) to about £3,200 (for say a 56 plate SXI+, a 55 plate SRI, or an 05 plate Exclusiv)
and I don't think you have to tell them, I think it comes up anyway
