Is exactly why Barca and messi would not be so effective in the English Premier league

I would say that pretty much all of the premier league pitches are better than the San Siro pitch.

Ridiculous of them complaining about it though, Arsenal had to put up with it, admittedly they got stuffed, but they didn't make an official complaint about it.

It was a pretty crap match to watch yesterday and it definitely didn't help Barcelona that the pitch was in such bad condition though

I dont thin kthe surface was the problem more that it was so soft and cut up easily, can see that being the same at EPL clubs in mid winter of loads of rain.

they will be used to dry pitches with zero give in them

Not disagreeing with you, but I can't remember the last time I saw an premier league pitch cut up too badly tbh, the ground staff over here are in general brilliant.

The Milan pitch looked like that just put down a top layer over the shit underneath to make it look nice, but hadn't actually paid a single bit of attention to the pitch itself. In fairness increased the risk of injury to the players as well as detracting from the match itself

That pitch was fucking awful last night, see how many times Alves slipped in the first half, I have the same footy boots as him and they grip even on poor sunday league pitches, shows how bad it was, thats why milan played so narrow and hardly pressed the ball out wide, still think barcelona will twat them at camp nou anyway.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for teams in the top leagues in Europe to have a shit playing field.

They play their players 100k+ a week then can't afford the proper measures to ensure the grass is playable for 90 minutes a week?

Barca look extremely petty for moaning about 1 night in isolation but they are right in what they say. Playing surfaces should make zero difference to the outcome of a football match.

SoS has a terrible pitch, although looked decent for the Everton game. Think it was the Arsenal match, it looked appalling.
