I know its stupid and its cheap and if i wanted to get a machine polisher to go out and get a proper one but dad has bought a few electrical things from lidl and actually swears by them! Just wondered what you guys thought?

Will be pretty shite tbh.

Ive used the Halfords equivilent, and as soon as you put any sort of pressure on it, it just stops spinning.

If you want a cheap machine polisher then havea look on eBay. That lidl stuff reminds me of the car shit you used to be able to get in woolworths

That will do nothing but riddle your car with buffer trails - all polishers like that regardless of who makes them are not capable of the correct speeds or have enough torque to do the job properly.

Look at getting a Dual Action / Random Orbital polisher, or a rotary (I'm sure you're used to using these if you're doing bodywork at college?) you'll need to pay considerably more, but it's worth it and will give the results you want.
