BTW I work in Hinckley, didn't hear it myself but the lads at Vulcan To The Skies said they spoke to one of the RAF pilots that fly the Vulcan who confirmed it was High level training.

News is reporting that a 'helicopter transmitted on the wrong frequency' so two jets were scrambled. Maybe the helicopter squawked 7500 by mistake stating unlawful interference (hijack).

Seems a bit overkill if that's the truth though, but I guess it depends on who's helicopter it was and who was passenger on it.

Could be interpreted as training I guess, but isn't there a ban on supersonic flight over land in a peacetime situation? In which case it's highly plausible it was the helicopter scenario.

They have their training areas to go supersonic in which are off shore/in the middle of nowhere (a.k.a Wales and Scotland). I guess it could have been a real thing.

I'm in Leamington and didn't hear any bang.
Heard through the grapevine it wasn't training or a drill and that Typhoons were sent out to a civilian helicopter.
As said, they have very strict rules on where they're allowed to break the sound barrier...and above the West Midlands isn't one of those areas lol.

Sky news confirmed it was a airplane breaking the sound barrier, due to the helicopter transmitting on the wrong signal.

If Aliens came here, there technology would be silent, it would have no lights bringing attention to themselves and they would probably be invisible imo
