bought a new gear knob. managed to pull the old one of once heated using hairdryer. BUT there a large yellow plastic segment still on the end of the actual shaft of the stick. I need this off before the new one will fit on, but can't pull it off or anything. How on earth to i get it off? I'm gettin a bit worried

finally done it. i had to cut round the yellow section and then prise with a screwdriver - took me a good 20mins hard work. Finally it popped off, and was left with just hte shaft and it was simple to pop the gear knob on. It seems strange that in the tutorial section and in here nobody seemed fully aware of this. Is my car different to others? I think for future reference additions should be made to the tutorial.
