Our Scuba Dive Club is looking to add some influence on Facebook and get a bit of social advertising going.
Having not done anything like this, I only know I can setup either a group or a page
Can anyone tell me what would be best and why?
The purpose of this is to advertise, get more interest, find potential members, advertise 'Try Dives' etc.
Any help is appreciated,

Use a page. Pages are for promoting brands, services, bands, companies e.t.c. groups are for groups of people with a like minded interest. People 'like' pages and those likes appear in their interests on their profiles, people get added or just join groups and nothing much happens with the data.

This plus you can set your page to link to a twitter if you use one.
Group, it would only be a matter of time before some wideo joined and touted their wares in your group too.

Thanks guys.
When you say link to twitter, what sort of integration does it offer?

You can add apps like you can on your profile. A page basically acts exactly the same way as your profile.

Anything you post on your page's wall gets autoposted to your twitter account.
