Afternoon,
Does anyone have an experience with these? Looking at the r designs 2/3 years old as they are ok money now, and will most likely dropping out of the company car scheme.
Cheers

i test drove one once a few years backs, seating position/gear stick position was awful imo and felt very cramped inside.
felt quite powerful though from what i remember.

Been looking at them recently, too much for 2.0D R design, loads of 1.6's about.

Volvo is all Ford bits which is good.
1.6 is slow as fuck but with 105bhp in it it's to be expected.
Diesels are very very good though!
All round very very good cars. I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Odd, given I haven't driven one but I have sat at the wheel of one and found it to be one of the most comfortable cars I'd been in. I like them, just can't afford one

The only problem I know of them is the tin wheelnut coatings come off making the 19mm wheelnuts 18mm and your wheelbrace doesn't fit. Same as Focus's/Focuses/Focii. Fixed under warranty if found in time though.

I have a 1.6 Diesel R Design in White
Perfect for the 15k miles per year I do, seats are ridiculously comfortable, comfortably sits at 80mph in 6th whilst still getting 45-50MPG and IMO, one of the best looking hatchbacks on the market
Nothing but a big thumbs up from me although I have the facelift model and no longer like the look of the pre-facelift (looks a bit dated)

My dad has an S40 on 08 plate and it is lovely to drive to be honest. That is 2.0 Diesel.
Don't think C30 is much different, is it?
Parts wise I was told a lot of parts are Ford however plenty of parts are Volvo's own.

Should bloody hope it gets 45-50mpg at 80mph my 03 mondeo tdci does that so yours should be much higher.

Your mondeo has a 2.0 TDCI engine with ( i am guessing) more BHP and Torque so it will have to put less effort to keep mondeo moving at 80 mph than a 1.6 C30 at same speed.

So why are diesel engines getting smaller?, by that logic the 1.1 diesel kia can only get the 84mpg at 30-40mph.
