Just wondering if bucket seats on side mounts would pass MOT? Or are they requires to slide? Thanks

Pass - if there is no slide mech then there is nothing to test and fail

wrong....
the front seats have to slight foward and back as intended from the factory.

Well I have 2 different answers lol, tbh I have no back seats so I didn't think it would be nesasary. But johns answer makes sense. Thanks for the replies lads

6.2.3.The driver’s seat fore and aft adjustment mechanism not functioning as intended

Meaning that if there is no adjustment mechanism then it does function as intended ie fixed - not a fail...

Tbf John is an mot tester but also matt is a mechanic so who do you believe isn't it how the individual tester interprets the rule

IIRC, they must only slide if a slide mech fitted.

If there's no rear seats then they don't need to recline AFAIK.

iirc stavs old j-euro gold had welded setas, i.e. didnt move, no? on a 3 door golf and that was road legal as it was often around cov

should be fine ive passed with side mounted seats
