Anyone on here ever owned one?
I'm looking at the MK1 versions, prefer manual over the DSG's as well.
Am i right in thinking the engine, gearbox and quattro system is all the same as the MK5 Golf R32 bits?

Engine is the same as Mk5 R32, not sure about the rest. Would imagine so seeing as it shares the same platform.

Cheers for the help guys! Would you have one of these over a MK4 Golf R32? Think they're a bit down on power to the TT, but they're in the same sort of price bracket.

Had a go in a 2005 with DSG.
Nice cruiser, and looked the part but didnt really excite me. I had a megane f1 at the time and was looking to swop but didnt after the test drive. I couldnt see anything either. Roof line was will to low and i had to duck to look outside of the side window. The dsg box was brilliant for cruising, but when going for it, wasnt very good. Going along a straight road, it would drop a couple of gears when you nail it, and starts to go then drops another cog which then put its straight into its redline and goes up a gear again. Also terrible on fuel and also felt quite flat at the higher revs.
