Thinking of binning off sky, £41 a month and only really use the broadband, freeview will do me tv wise.

I do tend to do a bit of downloading so need a high usage ISP (20GB a month would probably do it).

Not sure what my options are phone line wise, does anyone do a deal where you don't need a phone line as its a bit of a piss take at £13 a month on top of the internet bill.

Any recommendations?

Why don't you just stick with Sky for your broadband (unlimited) and phone line, and get them to cancel your TV subscription and change it over to freesat (basically, freeview on Sky)?

20gb a month is quite low usage. As Sam said, just stick with sky.

Do they let you cancel the TV and just stick with broadband?

Never let you do that when I signed up 3 years ago as that was exactly what I wanted

Depends what kind of speeds you desire?

I pay £4.50 a month for a Bt line then £12.10 for 10 Mbps unlimited from Talktalk.

I personally would look in to Virgin Media, they do good deals if you take out their phone package as well, so for about £28 a month you can have 30Mbps connection and their little phone package.

You can treat IPS as any other company that sells goods, ask them if they will do it for x amount per month or you will go somewhere else.

Plusnet phone & BB, £25/month including line rental on their 60GB capped service. I couldn't find any cheaper.

Pisses me off that BT have you trapped with line rental when they know people don't use house phones as much as they used to.

The line rental thing for once isn't actually BT's fault, you need a line for the ADSL to go over.

Yup, end up paying a minimum of ~£13 for the line anyway.

Phone them up, cancellations department, explain situation, get a good retention deal.

Meant to update this...yep, phoned up the other day.

Ended up signing a new 12 month deal on the broadband/phone which is £20 a month so about the going rate (and tbf the broadband is pretty good).

Got a 25% reduction on the tv package for a year so overall my bills gone down by £10 a month.

How can BT charge you £21 a month and other people get it for £13 ? Rather crap.

Was just about to ask you guys when the sky line rental activates- does the broadband activate on same day?!

But as I was typing it, realised our phone line has been cut off and cannot make calls/go on internet ha.

See how long it takes now....
