Any of you lot train at one of these?
If so, interested to hear your opinions.
There is one opening near me in September will be £10.99 a Month for the first year then £15.99
Be good to hear of anyone who has actually used one of their gyms rather than armchair comments please.
Cheers.

I was a member of the one in Liverpool, tbh you get what you pay for!
Can't fault the range of machines though, only downside was lack of freeweights
Oh, 24/7 for the Liverpool one was cracking!

Looks like the same concept as PureGym.
Great value if you don't want pool etc etc

I went for a year, like bwbw said, you get what you pay for. During peak times it was fucking shit but its 24 hours so I just used to go quite late.

In my local one "The Gym - Plymouth":
Its rammed with groups of fat (and or) old women chatting.
Groups of chavs wearing their work clothes chatting and texting.
It smells.
The free weight selection is aweful.

Gym i go to is no where near as posh as those, but there is a good selection of machines, weights and young talent.

one coming in cardiff apparently, there is a pure gym literally outside my work there as well. Shame they don't knock one of these up closer to home.

Used to be a member of the one in Birmingham. You get what you pay for - the equipment was dirty, the floors were dirty, no one put the weights back after they used them, the showers were foul and I wouldn't use them, the toilets smelled so bad it made me gag and the changing rooms stank.
Left and joined my university gym that was about £10 a month more and the difference is brilliant.

Had the same issues as csweatherston too, you'd have to wait about to get hold of any weights if you went during a busy time of day. Not really ideal. You get loads of posers in there too, not sure why it annoyed me but having people in 'normal clothes' just loitering about the place did.

Joined the one in Leeds for a month whilst doing some filming up there.
Wasnt bad tbh, they have alot of equipment and 2-3 of each weights machines, and shit loads of each cardio ones.
Only thing is, with it being so cheep, it does attract some serious scrotes. That could be because i was in leeds though

Hmmm thanks for all the feedback guys it does indeed sounds like it varies from place to place.
Am not expecting miracles given the price but it will be 5 mins walk from where I am intending to move to this Summer.
There is also a fitness first within 10 minutes walk so that is my back up option if the Gym group one is a shitter.
Does not open till September but will be 24/7

My mum and Dad use Bannatynes Norwich. I went once and it was knee deep in hot birds.
Don't think this helps you tho.

That is where I train now
There are indeed quite a few hotties but the 'impossible to talk to' scenario applies here.
They come into the gym with their head down, emotionless, transfixed staring a head. They get on the cardio machines with their earphones then the second they finish their 30 minutes they dive out of the door.
None of them hang out in the cafe, none of them go swimming/steam room.
They are actually quite hostile IMHO.

Do you go mornings?
You probs would recognise my Dad tbh. He's there 3 times a week early doors - about 7.30am. Old git, glasses, beard??
Theres a piece of equipment - not sure whats it called, but basically you stand on it and wiggle your arse about - think it tones upper thighs/arse?? The hotties seem to love it. I couldn't concentrate on what I was doing when one girl was on. Felt like a right perv.

Yes I know the piece of equipment you mean
There is a young lady with about a size 10 body, really tight and trim... but she had HEFFER tits, fucking GG's or some shit
anyway when she goes on that arse wiggling machine she leans forwards. her udders sway from left to right in a manner where 'two become one'.

Been with fitness first for years never had any problems and my usual ones (Romford and London-Victoria) are always clean and tidy.
Get less knobs in the London one though but could be due to me getting there so early.

Fitness first gyms are normally top notch, as are VA gyms.
I would honestly avoid "thegymgroup" if you can.
When im bulking i use a proper spit and sawdust gym where you can happily grunt/ shout/ sweat and throw stuff around.
But when cutting i tend to use a health club with nice equipment, music, tv's a/c etc.

There is just the one spit and sawdust gym left now but I have not followed a bodybuilding style of training for just over 2 years now.
I am more into conditioning and do just as much cardio as i do weights now. Thus a mincey faggot balls gym with lots of fancy shit will probably be ok

Worth trying for a month, can cancel whenever you want which is great, no 3 month or 12 month contracts
