Duno if this is any help... but at work people often have this problem on BT broadband, check your proxy settings and if your computer is new or has recently been rebuilt.... reinstall drivers (or get updated ones) and check connection settings

My broadband kept doin it, stopped it by in my connection settings, telling it never to disconnect when no activity etc.
IE go
Tool, internet options, select dial up thing, settings, then advanced.
Check see if you got disconnect on
