what is this?

im just wondering because it seems to have just been placed on between what i thought was the cat and the centre tube? Thanks in advance!

ahhh right i see thanks! do you know if theres any reason why the previous owner has cut the old one out and clamped this massive one on? it should look like this :S

Most likely started blowing, its cheaper to put a after market flexi pipe on than by a new cat.

Its a consumable part so will be replaced during the life of the vehicle.
More likely the picture is not accurate and its bigger on the actual part than the illustration.

as said, it would have more than likely started blowing, most 1.0 flexi pipes blow after a while. yeah its fine aslong as its not blowing.
The old flexi is tiny too like the one in the picture
