Requirements are,

Age not THAT important but 05 or newer..

Must be 5 door but not an estate..

Something a woman would drive so no 5 series etc...

Pref a diesel...

Auto/DSG or manual...

I've been looking at 05 plate A3 2.0 TDI's with DSG for 5K which seem a good option. Anything I've probably missed?

Barney I love these but wife can't stand them
And it's mainly her car so

Andy I've just been looking at the Golfs and there's a lot more choice isn't there!

Also found Civic 2.2 and Leons reasonable

Octavia VRS? Could get an 08 plate or newer. All the poke of an Audi or VW for less £££, and a decent bootspace too

Probably get slated for this as it's not German.

They have a very good amount of equipment, 5 star safety rating, decent sized boot, loads of storage, engines are rather smooth, 6 speed gear box.

147 bhp - 251 lb-ft - 0-60 8.4 seconds and will do around 35/40 mpg in town and 50+ on the motorway.

I was looking at GT TDI Mk5 Golfs to begin with as they were cheaper than the Audi's.

Only got the A3 as it turned out sub 2k due to the damage.
