Me and the Mrs are wanting to go on holiday (27thOct - 3Rd Nov)
We've obviously been told Canary Islands are pretty much guaranteed sun which is what she wants, but i'm getting prices coming back around £1200! I refuse to pay that for a basic holiday abroad.
So, anyone got any idea? Links to holiday etc
- Must be hot
- Self catering preferred
- Not up for Ibiza stylee nightlife

This tbh. Turkey would be a good shout, still fairly sunny then too. A few including myself have stayed in Ichmeler a few times.

Everybody goes Canary's, Balearics, Egypt, Turkey etc.... try somewhere different for once, like Marrakech, Dubai or maybe even Muscat in Oman - hot, interesting and not all that expensive (esp. Marrakech)

Dubai is fucking amazing, but silly hot in summer. We went in August and it was 47c and 94% humidity. However obviously the place is set up to deal with it, but most of the Sheikhs bail in summer and come to Europe to escape the heat!
Can't remember if it was expensive or not once there. Taxi's were cheap I think.
EDIT - seen Gary said Sept/Oct so temp will be fine lol.

We went there about 6 years ago. I was very sceptical beore we got there but actually its okay. Food/drink is dirt cheap. Just watch out for the watch sellers etc. Theres also guys that will try and clean your shoes. Tell them to fuck off. Watch the locals with your missus too. They are nice enough but can be a bit hands on etc. But most of that is common sense.
Turkish baths are intersting if you like being lathered up and rubbed by hairy men in their underpants.

Hoping to sell the Mrs for some camels in the first few days.
Turkish bath booked for the first day.
Boat trips all seem good and dirt cheap.
I love winding the watch sellers up

Did you expect a Hilton Hotel when paying the price of essentially a Primark hotel?

I thought this before we went but Marmaris was okay. Our hotel was pretty nice for a package hotel.

I'm looking for somewhere just now also, can't decide.
What I have noticed though is Newcastle becoming part of Scotland.

Exactly!
I checked the hotel out before, realised we are paying about £40 a week each for it and expect that, although from the photos and reviews, people seem over the moon with it.
