the other week my rear wheel came flying off while driving, hub the lot...so as i cant drive the car ive been quoted about £100 - £150 for someone to come round and fix it in the drive (mate of my brothers who owns a garage) i think the wheel bearing collapsed causing it to come off and i know it needs a new part but im not the most mechanical kind of person so im just wondering does this seem a decent price!?!?

Cheaper than getting it recovered to a garage. Presume that doesn't include parts?

seems quite pricey to me unless you are getting OEM parts.
3rd party bearing kit ~£30
thats 120 quid for about 45 mins work

We charge a fair bit to go fit a tyre at someone's house with a fully equipped van. It's at the persons convenience which comes at a price.

Where has he said that Steve?
Not too bad I guess. I'm no mechanic mind, but I'd pay that if I knew him well enough.

It's not 45 minutes tho. That's in perfect conditions with all correct gear. For a start he has his journey there and back . Plus working from the side of the road is far from perfect conditions . Auto data is never 100% is a rough idea.
Only thing I agree with is put a new bearing on

Autodata is 100% correct mate, to the manufacturer!! You would however want to inflate those times on an older car to allow for rusted bolts etc. Autodata dont produce anything thats a "rough idea" ever.
