Does anyone know if windscreen policy on insurance covers damage from the inside?
I cracked my windscreen from the inside trying to force some 3m lengths of wood into my car over the weekend.

I think you should be careful when you claim on it, it doesn't affect your NCB normally but it's still a claim that goes down on record just like any other claim and can affect your core premium.

I had to smash a window the other week as I locked the key in my car, the job the autoglass dude had before mine was exactly what you've just done. So i'm guessing its fine.

agreed. but it doesn't affect the price like a car collision claim would.

Ended up scamming the windscreen company as they replaced it for the usual insurance excess but i didn't have windscreen cover so they tried to chase for another £100 or so but I ignored them and they must have written it off

I call autoglass and they come and do it. It's not an accident so why should I tell an insurance company at renewal. The question they ask is:
Have you had any accidents regardless of fault in the last 3/4/5 years?
