Bought me a new car on Sunday (2004 civic type r in black)
I left a deposit but couldn't take the car as the current owners needs to transfer their private plate off and revert the car back to it's original reg.
Now I have zero experience when it comes to private plates but I have checked the dvla website and apparently it can take 14 days. Is this correct? Has anyone done this before and if so how long does it take to get the tax/v5 back??

Can take ages but the owners is wise not to let it go because then it becomes yours.

It can take up to 14 days but never does. I know some that were done in less than a week.

Cheers guys hopefully it won't be to long then.
I'm just impatient as I pick the car up from Wales and I'm looking forward to the drive back to Bristol through the welsh valleys, love those roads
