am I able to swap my plate off my old car to my new one just like that ovs have to go to DVLA with v5 etc or will I have to pay the £105 retension to have the plate put on paper to then put it straight on my new car

£80 car to car. Just take v5, tax disc, and mot to dvla and fill firm out.

You need to have the V5 back for the new car in your name.

You can do it with the green slip off your new car log book, just take all the documents and they will sort it for you

They wouldn't let me do it with that Not sure if I got there before the other part had reached them though as the Doc ref was no longer valid.

I did it on Monday fro with my green slip for my new one, they filled out another form so i swooped it over, just waiting for my documents to come back

Mine wouldn't have reached them by the time i sent mine off so maybe that's why I could do it

Think it depends who serves you tbh. I did mine on green slip before and he said I shouldn't do it but I will on this occasion. I then received 2 log books, one with orig plate and one with private.

I went to dvla on Friday with the forms and i only had the new keepers slip. The letter has come already today so i can put it on my car now.
Cost £80 to transfer.
