For those who seen me paint the door silver other day, I had another go today.

Cocky old painter who's jobs come out shit said "anyone can paint a door laid down, try it stood up" so I have done, and still come out better than his

Black base coat


Lacquered



All done


Did all insides and underneath too

I'll try get some pics of his work, without him seeing

I'm a qualified panel beater in the body shop, but want to learn as much as poss. I know bits of mechanics, brakes suspension etc. Fit a water pump on a Corsa C last weekend

You should keep it up that's mental work from a beginner . I also have someone at work like that, thinks he's god's gift at painting but he's just plain shit.

He's nearly 60, been painting for around 40+ years. He's scared of putting laquer on and then they end up looking dry. He's just painted a BMW boot today and got about 5/6 runs in it, yet dry patches too.

But he's a pain in the arse anyway, I'd we get any new polish to try etc he looks at it and says nah it's shit that.

It is metallic Graeme. It's a VW, Vaux and Ford met black all mixed together. Can you not tell on 3rd pic up with the flash on?

Haha don't think id trust myself with a respray on a Corsa let alone an M3 ha.

Ahh only on my phone so hard to tell.

Ok well a silver or a light metallic/pearl next. Black is pretty easy to paint. Its getting a silver or gold to not be patchy or streaky.

Wouldn't really say that. It's 50/50. Doesn't matter of its the best prepped panel and the paint work is shit.
