any help would be much appreciated , i dont seem to get any hot air through the air vents

You checked the water level for your radiator?

Or the control switch between cold and warm could be broken, happened to my '97 1.4 16v.

Water level in the car is the first thing to check, you got a reading on the temperature gauge?
