What car, engine etc?

How erratic, how fast does it move and how far?

I used to get that, mine would tell me it was -40 degrees and such, possibly your MFD needs replacing or the sensor where it picks up the temperature, can't remember where the sensor is...something tells me possibly at front near the grill

So firstly, find your sensor near grill, possibly underneath it slightly, black sensor, go to scrappy, pocket a few (in case some don't work), try replacing, if that don't work, replace MFD
