as you may have seen on other post , picked this up yesterday.

front end damage, removed the twisted front end today which was a bit of a twat, front bumper was obliterated, front panel, bumper reinforcer fucked and air con and fan fucked.

once i removed this i had a shock, noticed the pump on the steering rack terminal block smashed to pieces , which aint cheap.

i priced it up at roughly £3k to finish , ive bought most off a bmw breaker local and saved alot on new, trying to avoid spurious on this one as everytime i finish a bumped motor i regret not buying genuine, but at £400 for a bonnet and £170 a wing £400 per headlight etc new wasnt viable.

ill post more pics as its in progress

Out of all the damaged repairables I've done i have not once used spurious parts. I refuse too as there always terrible, lines etc are never right and I just hate them. Genuine all the way. Especially on something like that.

Looks like a good buy anyway.

Them seats are disappointing aren't they dont look like they have any bolsters to hold you in.

Looks good anyway, damage to chassis leg? Inner wing?

They are comfortable seats normally. To be honest with size of wheels and how low car is I can't imagine the ride being nice. Legs are straight , ns leg has gone in by about an inch which is nothing , will be jigged anyhow. Inner wings are both ok. Had to order a key from BMW at 160 which comes already programmed to car , all being well it will be here today ao I can get steering lock off to move it.

It's only certain motors though and I need a list on which to avoid nightmare like this. I had a polo which was literally fucked but pulled back fine. They get so far then split. Am not bodging a 15k car wouldn't mind if it was a cheap thing. Ideally I need a full front end from a pillar forward if anyone knows of any

Know what you mean, some cars pull back so easy, did a Corsa D last year, leg was bent over by about 10 inch, and pulled straight! Yet some others wont budge

They all pull back straight easy enough when over . It's when they have gone back on themselves when problems start. I don't like swopping legs but I'll get it stitched in so all will be ok. Really really didn't want to take engine out though

not an MSPORT either

Has standard seats and steering wheel, flat interior finish and no black roof lining

seems like an SE that has been through some exterior cosmetics with wheels and bumpers

Does MSPORT make or break a car

Kinda shatters the illusion knowing they are all the same car

not really - I remember him stating it was an MSPORT but I could be wrong

The mechanics are the same apart from suspension but the MSPORT carries a very high premium over other specs when it comes to second hand value

It has sport steering as standard, it has updated suspension, and exhaust I never said anything of msport. As for value autovogue conversions always make more than msport stock.

Byron your right it is autovogue .

Also got m3 interia lined up for it.

Taking engine out tomorrow , not looking forward to it.

Right today I unveiled the aftermath . Took engine and box out mega twat of a job. Dreading it going back in sensors everywhere in end decided to remove plugs from the housing plug on ecu . Found gearbox mounting to be smashed but box looked ok.

Anyhow engine out I could see extent of leg damage and it hasn't gone back into bulkhead which I feared. I'll upload pics in a min
