You are in the same boat as the rest of the country mate.

I was out of work for 9 months back in 2008 and had the same issue even though I had a top cv and all the right quals/exp for the roles I went for.

Keep at it, keep proactive and dont lose hope

You say you even applied for a KP job?? Theres no even about it. If you want/need a job, being a KP is exactly that. Take it and work hard. You'll soon start doing a bit of chef work and then if you work hard you will get the opportunity to train as a chef.

I know a guy who's GM of a big London hotel who started off as a KP.

I applied for 30 jobs the other year and heard nothing back for any of them! Went back to the agency I had previously worked for and had a job within a week.

Job hunting sucks.

I've been job hunting for a while. I've applied for all the jobs I'm able to do and the 'no experience needed ones'. I've only heard a few back but I've had one interview and have another one when I'm back from holiday, I've also got a builder who says he will ring me about working with him, although he hasn't yet.

Just have to keep trying, no point giving up or you'll never get a job.
