So we've set the date for the wedding for the 29th June 2013 and it's now onto looking at honeymoon ideas. This is where you can hopefully suggest some good ideas.

We normally take holidays at beach destinations doing not a lot apart from sunbathing and swimming. For the honeymoon we are thinking of a holiday where we actually do something to remember and I'm looking for suggestions. New York isn't an option as we went last July and plan to head out in April for Wrestlemania

Our ideas so far...

- Route 66
- Disney for a week then Hawaii
- The Inca Trail in Peru

We did 10 nights at Legends in Mauritius then 4 nights at the Royal Meridien in Dubai.

Probs not what you are looking for tbh.

Yeh stay in the main hotels too . Disney land is awsome and by far the best holiday I've ever had. Been to Florida which I'd say was best but went to France with school and that was quality too. If you could you should save to stay for 3-4 weeks and do the lot route 66 , canyon Disney Vegas... but it depends on your situation . Can't go wrong with Disney too as there is enough to do than sit in a bar every night getting pissed

Unsure on a final budget to be honest but around £5K. It all depends what we end up doing.

something to think about but florida etc is thier rainy/thundery season. but usually the storms dont last long but it will be quite humid but then you would have plenty of time indoors i guess route 66 would be good, something i really want to do but not sure for a honeymoon.

Im doing my honeymoon in Dubai at the end of Aug, 10 days at the Le Royal Meridien

Gonna do a bit of pool/beach lazyness, city sites like Burj Khalifa, Ferrari world maybe, Atlantis aquarium, desert safari, knictclubs etc...

You can do split trips like Dubai and Maldives etc.. over 2 weeks.

I would suggest cuba. Was there for 2 weeks in May and it was awesome. Havana is a ver interesting place with a lot of history, so plenty to do. And if you do fancy relaxing they have some of the nicest beaches in the world there.

Thanks all for the suggestions...

Dubai - a possibility
Thailand - hadn't crossed my mind but I will have a look
Mexico - one for the future
Cuba - went to Havana and Varadero a few years ago and loved it. Looking for somewhere new.
Caribbean - not really as we are going to Jamaica in September
Singapore - has anyone been?

For a honeymoon i'd always suggest doing a twin centre type holiday like we did and doing maybe 10 days relaxing and then 4 days somewhere like Dubai to see the sights and do some activities etc.

We did 5 Days in Vancouver and then 10 Days in Whistler snowboarding (with some others that joined us). Was awesome.

Bit harder to do in the summer as you either need glacier snow or NewZealand etc.

Our honeymoon consisted of a 14 day trip in a Dodge Challenger driving from Vegas to San Diego and then the coast line up to San Francisco.
I can't recommend it enough. It's such a fantastic trip with loads of very, very, VERY different experiences and opportunities along the way.

We've done both Mauritius and Hawaii as well and I wasn't too impressed with either.
O'ahu is VERY touristy and not a lot to see tbh.
Mauritius is shit for anything but sunbathing and snorkling and it seems you have to drive a lot around the island to see stuff.

When traveling I prefer each day to be different from the previous.
