Has anyone done this? Started attacking the rear arches on my nova today, I'll be honest I wasn't expecting it to be as much work as it was lol, I've done mot repair welding at work but this is by far the biggest repair job I've done..

Didn't take a before picture :



Inner arch rust all ground off.



Small patch welded in.



Tacked in place.



Where I left it for today, most of the weld ground down... Still have a patch on the inside to weld up and join the inner arch to the outer and underseal the whole arch, then do the other side (which is a lot worst)

Thought I'd share it with the world of CS.

I think most novas have had this done now. Rare to find one that hasn't or doesn't need it doing now.

Apart from my arches the shell is solid! The reason for the rot is previous owner cut the arches to
Fit awful 16" wheels, and water got between the 2 skins.

Yeah, already got the paint. Ford frozen white, second vauxhall I've painted in a ford colour Ahh, mine seem pretty goods just few little bubbles that's all yOu got any pictures of your nova linch?

had to do it on my escort when i bought it, came out pretty good for a 1st time and still fine nearly 2yrs later

Did a set at work last year aswell as a full repaint in flame red. Was a 1 owner 53k 1.3 SR. No pics though

Looks strangely similar to my car around a month ago looks good considering you went it alone though mate! Exactly the same as mine looked so your doing it right

On a corsa the outer skin is literally spotwelded to it but i dont know how they do it with novas because youd see the spot welds if you get what i mean!?
