I have an issue with my camera which has come to light after taking pics at a wedding.
Sitting in the 4th row of the church, trying to take pics I was getting increasingly hacked off!
I have the standard Canon 18-55mm image stabilising lens and a Tamron 70-300mm telephoto.
The problem is, the 18-55 was too far away, even at the 55 end, the 70-300 was too close, even at the 70 end....
I need something in between, but don't want to spend the money.
Can someone find me one?

Sigma 28-70 2.8 would be my choice (I have it and love it).

I have that lens, don't use it very often howerver. Bought it around a year ago for £120 second hand Rob, so probably around £90-100.

I think the price tag is the only good thing about the Canon 55-250mm.
You'll struggle to find a lens with more negative impact on image quality.
If there is a none IS version of this, it might be different, I wouldn't know, but the IS version that came in some kits is brutally bad.
