If not best mid range tyre you guys can recommend, mot coming up and I know i'll need them replacing, previously had Eagle F1's & s-line's which i rated quite well

Proxes are excellent in my opinion, I'm running 195/40/16 but they cost around 300 all in.

There not excellent FFS have you ever had any other makes? There good in the dry but shit in the wet. Proxies are for the chav clan that just follow the crowd and don't really know anything about tyres.

In England you need a tyre that excels in the rain and is decent in the dry as unless you drive like a hooligan you'll never reach a tyres limits. Best tyre with no budget? Either Uniroyal Rainsports, Conti Contact's, Michelin Exalto's if you can get them

Not had a problem with them on my Astra and thats what they were specced with from new. Track work and normal driving in the dry and wet they are really good. Better than the Falkens a previous owner had switched too.
I actually cant get the T1r's in my size now so have had to switch to the Tsports.

I'd also rate Camskill as a place to buy your tyres. Good prices and service.

I tried the proxies for a while and found them pretty good in the dry but fucking dire in the wet.

When they wore out i gave the uniroyal rainsports a try and in my opinion they are epic for the money! Dry grip is awsome, but the wet grip is immense compared to the proxies. Much harder wearing aswel, generally not much more than the proxies either!

If you can stretch to it, id recommend the uniroyals

Cheers for the feedback, having the lovely climate we get here, think I'm swaying more to the rain sport, was going to go with them last time but went with the s-lines, reckon I'll give the uniroyals a try then. Oh and it was the 50 profile I spotted for that price
