Hi I'm just interested too see if anyone else XE gets hot ? Because Ive been stuck in traffic a few times now and it's been running just under 100c and the fan kicks in which only takes it down a notch on the temp dial ?? I've got a GSI radiator and the fan it one of the cheap eBay ones
Thanks Kyle

Mine gets hot very quickly in traffic, especially in weather like it is at the moment the fan normally cools it down well though, what fans are you using?

Kyle mines a 1.6 one off eBay and mines spot on. Doesn't get warm at all when driving. When sat in traffic it does go up a notch but soon goes down when driving again.
But my mates Ash's redtop is always warm for some reason.

What's wrong with 100degrees? Thermostat doesn't open till 105 irc?
Better to be slightly warm than too cold

its about 95. if your thermostat didnt open till 105 you would be going through head gaskets like nothing else.

Well I think I might try a new thermostat for what it's worth !! And this issue is getting on my nerves abit now because the engine management light came on then once I got on the motorway it went off as it got cooler ?? Any ideas.? And normally i thought thermostats open about
88 - 90c ???

Why would It be popping head gaskets? My bike stat doesn't open till 103?
And while in traffic my corsa regularly hit 100+ with a proper gauge,
Both never popped a gasket?
Also people have to realise corsa temp gauges are wank.

Also have you piped it up right round the back?
One hose to heaters, one to header tank?
Then side exit routed round to other heater pipe?
The amount of people who do it wrong it's comical

radiator systems usually work under pressure, therefore the water boiling temperature is raised, at 1bar pressure its raised to about 110 degree boiling temperature, thats why the fans kick in at 103 and 105 depending if you have air con.
