No, as Facebook is just a commercial, money making business - that's how they make more money via targeted ads!
I haven't noticed it to be slower tbh, but the notifications on my phone are very spasmodic and the notifications for my RD page rarely work anymore.

I installed it yesterday to get rid of the youtube advdrts while listening to music. Works a treat. And no ads on facebook.
