... is it essential that you have a bath tub in your home?
Or can you get you get some sort of baby bath tub which could be used in a shower enclosure?

you can get plastic baby baths. But when the get bigger you'll be wanting a bath.
TBF people use there kitchen sink quite a bit when they are little

the baby baths are a few quid in asda.
hes outgrown that now and we have him a inflatable duck that sits in the bath water, that you can fill with his own water, there's a bit on the bottom to tell you the water temperature, its more fun than the plastic one

As root said, a small tub type thing you can buy from anywhere, but they'll quickly grow out.

I think a bath is absolutely necessary when theres small children, also if its a family size home you could find it a pain to sell on if theres no bath.

Yeah we got a bath tub (some Jacuzzi thing the previous owner put in, it's shit) but I want to put a shower with proper enclosure in there, especially as space is at a premium in the bathroom.
Was just wondering if we had kids whether a bath tub was necessary, but I guess it is.

You can get a 900x900 corner bath, I toyed with the idea as I wanted a monster shower enclosure however decided it would look silly so got a 1500x1000 bath & 900 quadrant shower instead.

i had a plastic bath that went in the bath when i was a baby, its no used for oil changes and coolant changes at my parents

The problem is our bathroom is the size of a shoebox 
If we didn't have an water tank in the airing cupboard right outside the bathroom then we could expand the bathroom that way and possibly make room for both tub and shower enclosure, but as it stands we can only have one or the other.

Nope, not essential.
Why would you use it in the shower? Buy a plastic baby bath and fill it up with a kettle or jug.

It's easier to have a bath. My boys play with toys in the bath for ages. They both wouldn't play with toys in a shower... 1 and 4 years old. And you can wash them better in a bath without getting soaked.
You can work it but I'd say its more hassle and less fun for them.

A boiler on its own wouldnt provide the water flow for a power shower, maybe an electric shower.
edit: Infact with that pump a smaller combi would struggle to heat enough water on the fly.

You don't pump the hot water from a combi, it comes out at mains pressure anyway, how hot it is depends on how big the boiler is though yes.

I dont think mains pressure will supply a power shower, i could be wrong and im sure a plumber could clear that up, but i really dont think it would.
My parents have a power shower (2.5bar iirc), they also have a decent combi boiler but also retain a hot water tank due to the volume the shower outputs.
