No, and because the can reach down to the obd port right into the drivers footwell the ultrasonic sensors don't got off as there's not enough intrusion to the cabin.

Surely the simplist of fixes is to disable access to the interface port unless the doors are unlocked. Im amazed that even if someone can gain entry to the car, without setting off the alarm, then they can access the computer.

Basically if the alarm is armed/doors locked, NO access to the port!

I think their whole attitude has been pretty lax throughout. However judging by many a post on Piston Heads and on other forums, it's going to have cost them a few high end motor sales. Some have cancelled orders or simply moved onto another brand because of this issue. Madness, if they came clean instead of giving the usual bullshit about 'there is always car thieves and it happens to all manufactures' etc.. rather than looking on their own door step and at least looking like they were doing something about it. They might have saved a bit of face.

To be fair the chance is very slim of it getting stolen using this method. Put a steering lock or a code immobiliser and job done. I'd prefer them to take it this way than to break into my house with weapons for the keys

It's not very slim, hence the furore about it?
