I'm struggling to find toys to keep him occupied / last long enough for him. We've all materials, all shapes and sizes and we've come to the conclusion that he is a bit of a gimp (has a rubber fetish) and at the minute he is making mincemeat of a solid rubber ball which is supposed to be 99% indestructible

Gave him a pig's ear from the butchers this morning and by the time I had put the shopping away he was sitting waiting for his next toy

I'm thinking I need something more....industrial....such as an old car tyre. Is that going to be an issue for his health? Any ideas on relatively cheap and readily available toys for him to nag on? Instead of tearing my kitchen to pieces

edit: Staffy x Unknown, but he's 23/24kg

Set up a tyre swing and let him have fun with that, it'll be fine. Shame he looks a beast. My uncle's got a bitch staffy, ready for breeding iirc.

Hmmm, not really sure I want to encourage him to find his treats on our dinner table, and anyway, a cabbage wouldn't last 10 seconds

edit - he gets walked between 3.5 and 5 miles every day over 2 sessions, morning and evening

edit 2 - I would like to set a swing thing up but no trees / anything to hang it from, has to be floor based activities

Fair doos sound fine. Most dogs behaviour issues come from lack of walks/stimulation but yours sounds like it's getting enough

have you had him fixed? that can calm a lot of the naughty behaviour, you could just teach him to not chew? http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/stop-dog-chewing.html

Hep2o pipe seems to last for a bit, not because they couldn't demolish it, just because he seems to like playing with it.

Cows ears last for some reason as well, plays with it instead of chewing it?

Bones, balls etc get completely demolished.

My staffy gets an off road style tyre on a rope to play with, it usually lasts about a month.
Everything else I've tried is gone in minutes as she just rips it to bits.

My Dad's company produces that stuff - I'll let him know his products are being used for something useful

My rabbit once growled at a doberman through a lattice fence and the dog just stepped back away from the fence and barked from a distance

Funny to watch

PS, I hate the thing. Always whining! It's really old but will out last an atom bomb. The Mrs is a Vet and I keep telling her to bring some "bump juice" home for it. She says no every time

We bought something off the market called an indestructaball for my bosses dogs. One is a labrador crossed with a bull mastiff or something and has a fiercely strong jaw and loves chewing. They're strong but hollow plastic but its size (we got a large one) meant that he couldn't get a grip of it in his mouth.

Another thing my boss gives him is strips of seatbelt that he removed from his land rover because he'd already chewed the buckle out of it they seem to last a while, in small strips he can't quite get a proper grip of it to completely tear it apart
