Anyone else get angry when random people walk past you washing your car and try and crack the classic "you can do mine after" line

For some reason it really annoys me

Should start saying "yeah sure no problem for £50"

Either Steve has been reading Detailing World or this is a bit coincidence The same thread was on there the other day.

It is annoying that nobody can ever think of anything new to say. One of our neighbours usually says "you'll polish all the paint off" or something to that effect. I never know what to say so usually just give it an awkward laugh

I used to get really angry about dumb ass comments to the point of a Defcon 2 ROIDZ attack.

Now I just think to myself they are just being neighbourly and trying to make conversation.

People use the stupid comments as an ice breaker as they have nothing original to say. Hardly anything to get mad about, unless you're socially handicapped.
I usually just reply with a "Sure, how are you doing?" and conversation evolves.

Theres the difference between Denmark and England. Over there its probably a nice, sincere thing to say, and they probably do just want to talk to you. Over here they actually probably want you to clean thier car, for nothing, and if you dont, they'll come back later and key yours.

Dosn't bother me tbh. As said, its just an original, neighbourly thing to say.

Any1 who gets annoyed with it, must be pretty dull if they can't see they are just being friendly/having a bit of banter.

I normally just reply with "ive ran out of water" or something along them lines.

i know its being nice, but its cringeworthy, and also feel like they are trying to suggest they are too good to wash there own car and that you are below them enough to do theres for free
