Had my iphone for a few years now, recently its developed a bit of a fault where the home button is not responding well. If i press it down on the far right hand side it works slightly better, but its not great.

Is this it failing, or is it possible to clean it out?

About £30 to replace. Try cleaning it out with some compressed air, but personally i'd just change it.

Will be shit in there guaranteed, done about 70 and not one had to replace the button.

You can't do a proper job without taking the screen off though.

Fixed loads just using isopropyl alchohol. just put a few drops over the button, press it a few times and dab any excess off. Fixed.

My Iphone 4 started to develop this issue. Gave it to my mum when the new phone arrived, and she is booked to see the apple geeks on saturday morning. Will update after...

Dropped it on the path today, few little chips on the edge but the home button works a treat now. Must be full of crap.
