To me it looks like two stick men, one has a sword to the other one, when he gets a boner.

i think the one on the left is an open switch, (if my gcse physics is up to scratch) as for the other, no idea

Left is "Normally Open" (NO) right is "Normally Closed" (NC)

Edit: So NO is an open contact unless its closed (by energising a relay or operating a switch etc) and NC is a closed contact unless its opened (again, by energising a relay or operating a switch etc)

Ok, it's a brake light switch, so the 2 left pins will trigger the bulbs when the pin is depressed and presumably the other 2 pins are there to tell the ecu that you have your foot on the brake which is why it cuts the throttle
