28 Days Later on steroids. Looks awesome.

But am I the only one that thinks it's evident from the trailer that CGI is still not a good replacement for extras? Don't think the zombies looked very real in any shots...

The Zombies in Glasgow were real, seen hundreds of them running down the street, bit scarier than normal.

can someone explain why they shot footage in glasgow rather than america? surely the cost of all the props and making it look like an american city outweighs the cost of shooting it over there?

It was chosen because of the stunning architecture, wide roads and the grid layout upon which a lot of American states are based.
