A kid at work i know might be selling one of these, sort of thought about buying it.

i currently have a mini cooper s. does anyone have an idea how a vxr compares to a cooper s performance wise or are they similar?. anyone had both if so which would you say is the better car ( i knou you will probably also say the mini is better built).

the thing that puts me off is the mpg of the vxr as the lad who has it says he only gets around 25 miles to £10 of fuel although it sounds a bit rubbish to me as my cooper s does 35mpg.

From the group tests I've seen the Mini always comes out on top.

Better MPG
Better Build quality
Better handling

BUT my nieces fella has one an I loved it. Sounds great with the Remus and the interior is nice with the piano black trim. He uses his every day for work and gets 27/28 MPG with mixed traffic max 50mph

The Cooper S is a far better all rounder, is your S standard?

I've had a Corsa VXR a Cooper S that had 15% pulley, Dave F air box, GRS cooler and on Coilovers and it was immense. Only downside to the Mini was the seats.

I've got a Clio 197 now which is fantastic if you like driving cars hard constantly.

To summarise keep the Mini.

s3 is lovely.

25 miles to 10 quid of petrol means the bloke who owned the vxr was constantly redlining it.

That £400 would have gone a long way towards a remap

£400 for a bottle of Autoglym Polish tipped over your car and badly buffed off or a remap

Maybe it's him I should be 'racing'.

S3 is alright, but I'd kept the Mini but that's just me.

I wouldn't have to think twice about swapping the mini for the S3,much nicer to look at not such a girls car (I've had one before any one blows up at that comment ) and bet there 10 times nicer to drive

What a stupid fuck of a comment.

Why would I be jealous? Far play to the lad if that's what he has gone for, just not my cup of tea.

Bloody jealous, what a knob rot.
