Me and a few lads are going up Manchester next month for my birthday and we need some suggestions for where to hit on a night out? My ex used to live near the BBC building so I know that 'student' area pretty well but we're looking to make it a proper night out. Any suggestions?

Most people will likely suggest Deansgate.

Depending what you're after from your night out, Warehouse project will be doing things in December.

Open to suggestions? We're staying in Oldham Travelodge so will just grab a taxi into the City, get pissed, have a laugh and grab a taxi home. Standard lads night out if you will...

Why Oldham out of interest? Hardly close by to Manchester centre, will cost you £20-30 in taxis each way.

We ended up at Deansgate locks then got knocked back from Sankeys for being overdressed? Nothing to do with the fact we were completely hammered

Locks are decent, don't understand about the "Money No Object" bit though, if you want to spend loads of money go to an overpriced stripclub with bottles of becks for £15.00

Can't remember where it is but theres a vodka bar in walking distance of the locks, looks like its down a shit street but when you walk in and its full of people. Try work through the vodka list! Then on the way to the locks are bars like mousoula (sp) etc where you could have half way pints.

Oh yeah, forgot about the markets. Lots of sculpted wood and foreign beer, what a delight.
