Had this big accident today after skidding on ice. As you can see the road just looks wet but its actually sheet ice. Fuckin shit myself and that power pole had lines with over 5000volts going through them. The only thing that stopped me toppling over was the wire that was used to hold the pole in place caught the top of the van pulling it up. This was at 21mph as verified with my tacho lol. I ended up hitting the windscreen as the seat belt didn't lock up.

Drive safe out there folks.

You can see the dent on top of the frigobloc where the pole hit it. I'm amazed the windscreen survived. That burn is deep as fuck as well btw

Bosh!! Least your alright.

I had a scary moment on a round about on Sunday night in my truck. I was unloaded and when I changed gear coming of at my exit both rear wheels lit up and I came off sideways. It's scary trying to grab had fulls of oposite lock sideways in a 30ft 26T recovery truck

The wire held its own very well. Thank fuck it did I was ok at first then once I climbed out the passenger side the pain shot up my arm and then the shakes took hold a bit of delayed shock I think. Scottish hydro guys turned up and said if they power lines had snapped and hit the van it would have been a very different outcome, that put the shitters up me a bit

Fucking hate black ice.
Couple of years ago, when there was snow on the ground I drove into the car park outside my mates, was going slowly due to the snow, went to turn into a space, my car didn't turn at all just slid into the nearest car.
Took us ages to move my car after as my wheels were just spinning on the spot.
Luckily, there was only scratches on each car and the owner wasn't fussed.

Fucking hell mate, glad your alright.

Heard today a friend of mine wound up on his roof this afternoon on black ice, middle of the day & he hit the ice & kept going, stone wall, rolled twice. Bye bye MK1 Escort. Road wasn't gritted, council said it wasn't worth it.

That 'Wire' is quite possibly the 'Stay' or basically the earthing system for that 3 phase supply above your head.

Kind of want that not to snap if you can help it. Glad your okay man

looks like the steel cable that braces the pole and attaches to the ground took the strain causing it to snap
