I might need to ghost/image Windows XP computers in the near future.

A PC will be built to begin with, containing Windows XP, all drivers and updates, MS Office, VLC Player, Flash Player etc etc, and then i'd like an image making of it which i can quite quickly blast onto 15 or so identical spec computers (hardware spec i mean)

Using WDS/RIS isn't an option in this case.

What i'd like to use is something USB or DVD based. I've used Powerquest Drive Image in the past (i'm talking about 10 years ago now, and i think they've since been bought out by Symantec), and i'd like to use something like that for this project.

Needs to be free

Opinions?

Used Clonezilla in the past. It's very slow and was not too user friendly.

From there i went onto using snapshot.

Recently, i have used Acronis to go from SATA to SSD.

I still prefer snapshot.

In the end i went with trueimage that was suggested by pow, seemed the most straight forward. Not sure if it's free tho.

Can that be used via DVD/USB? One of my friends has it setup for PXE boot at the building he manages.

If these are all going on a network together you can't just image it. Will need sysprep'd first.

Nah these are going to be standalone. No GUID conflicts in this case
