Hello

I have a corsa c20xe the problem is brakes are shocking

I have 16" speedlines on budget tyres and 2.0 brakes which have grooved discs standard pads so these are my problems which need to be changed

Tyre wise im looking at prada spec2's any other good ones? Cheap places to buy from?

Brake wise dunno wheather to put green/red stuff pads and some drilled grooved vented discs? Or just put some v6 ones in?

i wouldnt upgrade to the 288 brakes the 256 are good brakes, just need to find a good combination to get the best out them, have you changed the fluid, gave them a bleed, made sure the pistons and guides move as they should?

I had the 2ltr brakes on my xe Corsa and they were shit. Upgrading to the V6 brakes is a great option and is quite cheap now.

This.

V6 calipers have far too much pedal travel. 2.0 brakes will probably "feel" better than V6 brakes.

Don't bother with them pads as they are crap. Use either mintex m1122 or ferodo ds2500.
Dont bother upgrading the discs, gm ones are fine especially if you can get them at trade.
If upgrading the discs dont bother with drilled ones grooved are fine.

How much are the ds2500 pads any links? And fluid is fresh been bleeded rear setup is all new

So think i will get those pads i have them discs steve think its my pads letting them down tbh

Any views on tyres wanna spend about 100 on front setup?

Turbo calipers will have a 54mm piston, and V6 are around 57mm. Might actually be stamped on the caliper.

My 2ltr ones were perfect.. Make sure the pistons move properly and seals not leaking then braided hoses to help pedal feel and 2500 pads for the bite. Groove discs should help stop fade/glazing but oe pads don't take too much punishment

I liked the 2.0 ones on my XE. Seemed pretty decent with braided lines and good pads.

I have braided lines and calipers are good so defo just disc and pads need looking at especially pads as mine are cheap ones i think cant seem to find the ds2500 cheap? Anyone got any pointers?

If you want your brakes to take lots of shit, you'll need to buy decent pads, which means about £80.

Might be worth re-bleeding your system as well.

i had yellow stuff pads with grooved and drilled discs and when properly bled and warm they were awesome brakes! miles better than even standard discs and pads!

same here i have 2.0ltr 256's drilled grooved vented disks and fereodo normal pads- take a bit of getting used to i.e pedal travel but work much better than i thought!

Upgrade to a 22mm cavalier master cylinder,strip the brakes,give then a good clean ect, give them a good bleed and replace the brake fluid with new. Sounds a lot to do but is well worth it!
