Wouldn't want a 8v one though... A corsa 1.6 will beat it...

Think it's gotta be a 2.0 16v Turbo or a 2.5 V6 all the way with a calibra..
Although the 4x4 transfer boxes are a bit fragile (like a lot of 4x4's)...
Only been looking into it cos my mates about to buy a calibra this summer... Think he's settled on the 2.0T and will just be really upset if he gets a puncture and needs 4 new tyres

150bhp in a corsa is lovely... but in a calibra I think you'll be wanting that little bit more...

well when i get the 2.0 16v (insurance reasons and im only 20! will be 21 when i get it!)
2 twin exit slash cut powerflow zaust to manifold
indution, cams,
converted 6 speed box
uprated injectors n fuel system
chiped
dropped 40 mil on 17's
infinity wide kit.
hopfully looking at 5k price list for it all.
brother can get me stuff cheap as he works with impact performance n has mates in power flow!

How much is it then weight wise?
To keep the 4x4 in good condition you need to keep the tyres really even... you have to regularly swap them round etc... if you get a puncture and get a new tyre, you have differing grip on one corner so you really need to change em all...

Ah right. Thought a calibra weighed like 1.3 tonnes... Corsa is only like 950kg right?
8.2 seconds with 150bhp surely means it weighs more than a Corsa (as valver corsa's are like 7 secs and below)...

tim... you win... only the 8v calibra is lighter then the corsa. oddly the 1.0 12v comes in more heavy then the 1.2 8v!?!?!

I've driven a couple of Calibra 16v's, and they really don't feel that quick....
The Turbo on the other hand is a lot of fun - my Cav didn't get beaten all that much!
Just be careful buying Calibra or Cav Turbo's for £2K and below, as you do generally get what you pay for, and you do want one with working 4x4.

calibra 8vs are poo. 16vs are ok, but dont feel as quick as you would think. turbos are great, but most have had a good thrashing.
V6 is the way to go. pure class and a top notch engine
