So... Living with the mrs and her mum in a 2 bed house and our electricity usage has gone up to £3 a day!? (Used to be about £2 a day)

This has been the case for probably about 6/7 weeks now and were puzzled as to how it's shot up so much!

The electric is currently on a pay as you go meter which I've been told costs a bit more than paying quarterly and my gfs mum has been off work for almost a year (awaiting an operation on her back) which means she's at home a lot (using virgin, tv, laptop, etc) and she also has a 6ft fish tank which I'm convinced uses a fair bit!

Any ideas people? Me and my gf work throughout the week and are out a fair bit on the weekend! And we have to pay the bills!

Thanks
Ash

Electric Heating?!

The fishtank will use a fair bit.

If its any comparison, me and the missus have a 1-bed flat and use 80p approx a day! (£1 a day in the winters)

£5 a day!

Jeeez, I get annoyed if we reach £1.50 a day. £35-40 a month is normal for us two, not £150

Our electric used to be 40 a month. Suddenly it's jumped up to 57 quid arseholes.

Was well in credit over summer aswell.

We did use an oil filled radiator a lot over winter though, probably the reason it's gone up.

Gas is still 38 a month, which isn't too bad.

My electricity charges for the month of December were £42.90, 360kWh.

That's gas central heating and an electric oven.

Doing 4 times that a month is good going.

4 tv's, xbox's, computers, 3 fridges and a freezer, set of decks and PA system, electric heating and boilers usually always on because everyones always using hot water or showers. £200 is quite low

My rents did £225 in Nov and £245 in Dec for Gas alone. Fuck That. Miffed paying £70 for both in a 2 bed flat on my own. Paid £57 for two in a 3 bed house.
