Just trying to change oil pump and I'm having problems with the crank pulley. According to the Manual there are 6 bolts and the it comes off , but on mine someone has welded them over? Jut wondering if I undo the main nut will it all come off and is this common practice with these engines?

the pulley is bolted to the cambelt pulley, it would all come off but you will need to slacken the cam belt first, then sort it out once its off the engine. either get a replacement or grind off welds and drill out the bolts. be a right struggle to reassemble like it is.

Do u reckon the blokes just welded over the wholes or welded in the threads aswell? Was thinking I could just drill it out if its only on the surface?

the cam belt pulley should just slide on to the crank, can be very tight or siezed on. timed to the crank by a wood ruff key which can fall out when removing the pulley. clean it all up well before reassembley and use a smear of copper slip incase you need to remove it in the future.

Pressure release was stuck again so hoping that's the problem and not the actual oil pump
