How much am i gona be looking at to get a 1.6 16v engine and swap it for my 1.4 16v which i got at the mo? how much will labour be?

The power in the swap is not worth it m8 the 1.6 is not much faster really than the 1.4 i would say from friendly advice from m8s that the only big difference is the 10 mph on the top end and only 1 second to 60.
Buy a inlet from cossvaux for £350 and you will match there power.

I would go for a 2.0 16v but as i'm 18 insurance may be a little steep! what's the cossvaux website?

they have not got 1, call them tuesday on 01142 435010 there in sheff and they do every thing from convertions to upgrades to body work, my mate bought a inlet from them and a induction kit and got a full exhaust fitted and it now kicks out 108 bhp and thats a 1.4 16v.
See for £500 you can beat there power.

maybe so but if u spent 500 on gsi then im sure it wud pi55 all over a 1.4 too its swings and round abouts
your comparing a standard gsi to a 1.4 whats being modded

Anyhow, the C/X16XE engine is far far superior to the X14XE in many ways. The whole way the engine behaves is totally different and much easier to get large power gains from. But it would make more sense to change to a 20XE rather than a 16XE.

the lad said insurance was a problem, and from his position modding his 1.4 16v is the most cost effective and insurance friendly way to obtain more power.....
