do you cook? it doesn't have to be regularly, just whenever you need to make a nice meal?

i work with a guy who's 57 and is seeing a woman, but doesn't live with her. when he's with her, she makes all his dinners. when he's on his own, he refuses to make any meals.

wednesday and thursday nights dinner for him consisted of 2 boxes of yumyums (10 per box). his last proper meal was saturday afternoon when he had an all day breakfast in a cafe.

i asked him why he doesn't cook and his reply was 'can't be bothered'. i also asked him why he doesn't put a pizza in the oven. again his reply 'can't be bothered'.

I never cook . I lived on takeaways for 4 year solid when I lived with my mate. Mrs makes me tea but at least 50% of week we go out for tea or get takeaways . I find it so boring and can't be arsed doing it after work. I might stretch to odd pot noodle

I cook pretty much every night, not frozen crap either ! The missus will cook if I'm going to be in late, however that's very rare.

Try and only get a take away once a month or so.

Putting a ready made pizza in the oven is not cooking either FFS

Yes I love cooking, I would class it as one of my hobbies. In fact I am just about to make Spaghetti and spicy meatballs

I can, I rarely do though, purely through laziness, get home from work and cannot be bothered.

I don't find it cheaper to be honest, as I always find my standards suddenly become much higher when cooking for myself

We cook probably 4 times a week, with one takeaway and a couple of frozen pizza type meals.

The problem i have with cooking is, I get hungry, so i go down to make food and then Ive got to start pre heating ovens and preparing stuff.

I could do this earlier but i have no notion for what i would like to eat until I'm actually ready for food and when that time comes i need food now, not an hour later

I do all the cooking proper meals through the week, and on a weekend we get a treat of a takeaway or eat out. The missus does the washing/cleaning the house. That's suits us as she isn't keen on cooking and whereas I enjoy it and find it relaxing.gain a way where I'm not having to think about work and general daily worries!

Does depends what you're cooking yeah. Take pasta bake from tescos - probably £2.50 per person.

Pasta costs next to nothing.
Mince is £1.50 for two people.
Chopped tomatoes - 30p
Onion - 20p
Garlic - 5p
Cheese - 25p?

Less than a quid each and easily better for you.

That said, do like a curry out

I enjoy cooking, but after a long day at work and two kids to help put to bed its the last thing I want to do at the end of each day right now.

I'm terrible with portions for cooking. Always either too much or not enough. We try and cook as much as possible, does feel like it's better for you. Quite often have oven stuff if too busy, never microwave meals, got completely off anything that bad.

I just cooked my version of chicken royal with cheese

Mrs usually cooks and I have no issues with cooking. We hardly ever have ready meals.
Use to go out or have takeaways a lot but cut down on it now.
